Vincent Chiara commenced his career in 1984 as a lawyer specialized in real estate transactions and corporate disputes. In 1999, he put an end to the practice of law and concentrated his activities on the acquisition and development of real estate through Group Mach, a private equity company which he is the sole share-holder.

Mach and its associates are the owners of 4.5 million sq. ft. of office buildings located in Montreal and all throughout Quebec. Furthermore, Mach has renovated more than 700 000 sq. ft. of office spaces in Montreal. Mach has built and developed commercial centers in Montreal having a leasing surface of more than 1.5 million sq. ft.

Recently, Mach has acquired close to 2 000 multi-residential apartments in Montreal. Mach also possesses and operates more than 1.5 million sq. ft. of industrial space, as well as 5 million sq. ft. of land for development.

In his current position of Managing Director, Operations, and Executive Assistant to the President of BMO Financial Group, Quebec, a position he has held since January 2002, Claude Gagnon is responsible for integrating the Group’s various partner companies, maintaining the many internal and external business relationships found in this large financial institution, and overseeing all issues and operations.

During his productive, more-than-30-year career with the company, he has held positions in various fields, including Manager, Human Resources; Manager, Training; Senior Manager, Relationship Management; Senior Manager, Financial Services; and Sales Manager, Investment Products, Private Client Group, Quebec Southeast Region. During that period, he was responsible for setting up a large team of investment specialists and implementing business development strategies in this large distribution network.

Mr. Gagnon is a graduate of UQAM, a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers, and a member of the CVMQ and IQPF. He is also a member of the Ordre des administrateurs agréés du Québec and the Association des MBA du Québec. He is a member of the board of directors of CIRANO, an interuniversity research centre on organization analysis, and chairs its audit committee. In addition, he holds a seat on the board of the Association des centres jeunesse du Québec and on the management committee of the Religion, Culture and Society Chair of the Theology and Religious Sciences Faculty at the Université de Montréal. He also encourage and support tomorrow’s leaders as governor for the Jeune Chambre de Commerce de Montreal.

Over the years, Mr. Gagnon has been active in several community organiza¬tions. He is currently the Quebec Division Chair of the End/MS national campaign of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Patron of Honour of the Fondation Ressources–Jeunesse, and a member of the Sports Québec’s Vision 2020 advisory board. He was also presented with the 2004 MS Leadership award by the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. Lastly, he is involved with EPOC Montreal and has served as Vice-Chairman of the Board of the BMO Employees Charitable Foundation.
